Fee and Commission Schedule

We're building a safe and trusted car sharing community. The fees outlined below are meant to encourage the growth and success of a happy community and discourage any irresponsible behavior. When small issues do arise, it's always best if Members can work them out between themselves. However, if you see anything that looks particularly wrong, please contact us.

Standard Fees

Standard Fees compensate Getaround for the services provided in operating the platform and facilitating trips, including maintaining insurance coverage for trips, providing 24/7 roadside assistance, and running our site, hardware, and applications. These fees are in addition to the hourly, daily, and/or weekly rate of the car. Getaround currently charges a 40% commission on all trips booked, which commission is applied to the initial reservation price and any trip extensions, and which Guests pay directly to Getaround. Each trip extension is processed as a new trip and is billed separately from the initial booking.

Guests have no monthly fees but are subject to the following fees when reserving cars on Getaround:

Booking Fee

A Booking Fee will be charged for every Trip and trip extension, as reflected in the trip confirmation screen and documented in the itemized trip receipt. This Booking Fee is charged to the Guest for the reservation of a Getaround car and is required for each trip and trip extension. Discount codes and promotions cannot be applied to the Booking Fee. The Booking Fee is a percentage of the Trip price or trip extension to which it applies.

Variable as reflected in the trip confirmation screen

License Fee

Each Guest (including Guests enrolled in our Drive With Uber Program) will be charged a License Fee to cover the cost of driving record processing, as reflected in the trip confirmation screen and documented in the itemized trip receipt. This fee will be charged on all first-time bookings made on any new driver's license added to the Guest's Getaround account, or on initial bookings made after any change to the Guest's current driver's license has been detected or reported.

Variable as reflected in the trip confirmation screen

Under 25 Fee

Each Guest under the age of 25 will be charged an Under 25 Fee to cover the increased cost of insuring Guests under the age of 25. This Under 25 Fee is charged to the Guest for the reservation of a Getaround car and is required for each trip and any extensions on the Trip. Discount codes and promotions cannot be applied to the Under 25 Fee.

If under the age of 25, the following Under 25 Fees apply:

Age 19         75% of Trip price
Age 20         45% of Trip price
