Altadena, California, in Los Angeles County, is an unincorporated city approximately 14 miles from downtown Los Angeles. North of Pasadena, it has a population of about 43,000 residents. The city covers a total area of 8.7 square miles, of which 99% is land. Altadena has hot and dry summers followed by warm and windy falls.
