Getaround,the world’s largest connected car sharing marketplace, has appointed Karim Bousta as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who previously served as the company’s President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). He succeeds Getaround Founder and longtime CEO, Sam Zaid, who has assumed a new role as ExecutiveChairman, working alongside Bousta.
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — March 4, 2021 — Getaround, the world’s largest connected car sharing marketplace, has appointed Karim Bousta as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who previously served as the company’s President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). He succeeds Getaround Founder and longtime CEO, Sam Zaid, who has assumed a new role as ExecutiveChairman, working alongside Bousta.
Bousta joined Getaround in December 2019 as COO, later became President, and then joined the company’s Board of Directors in September 2020. Bousta and Zaid collaborated closely to position the company for long-term, sustainable and profitable growth, enabling a smooth transition as the company enters its next chapter of exponential growth. In his new role asExecutive Chairman, Zaid will continue to lend his vision and expertise about Getaround and mobility to support the company’s strategy, continued growth, and rapid expansion.
