Passaic, New Jersey, is located in Passaic County. The city has about 69,000 residents, which places it as the fifteenth largest municipality in New Jersey and the tenth most densely populated municipality in the entire United States. Located north of Newark on the Passaic River, Dutch traders first settled in 1678 as Acquackanonk Township.
