The Phoenix Metro Area is the largest metropolitan area in Arizona and the Southwestern United States. Often called the Valley of the Sun, it is centered around Phoenix and includes Maricopa and Pinal counties — much of the central region of Arizona. There are about 4,845,800 residents.
