Reno, Nevada, is on the Nevada-California border about 22 miles from Lake Tahoe. It is known for its casino and as a tourist destination. It is the county seat and largest city of Washoe County. The metro area occupies a valley known locally as the Truckee Meadows, a major U.S. technology center, home to about 425,000 people.
Nevada is in the Western region of the United States. It shares borders with Oregon, Idaho, California, Arizona, and Utah. With just 3,104,614 residents, it is the 19th-least populous and ninth-least densely populated state. Three of the states’ four largest cities are in Clark County, which is home to nearly three-quarters of the residents.
